Grant Program

 

Within the scope of “Enhancing Adaptation Action in Turkey Project”, co-funded by the European Union and Republic of Turkey and impletemedin by the United Nations Development Programme and Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, application to “Climate Change Adaptation Grant Programme” with the budget of 6.800.000 EUR was completed as of 28 December 2020.

The global objective of this call for proposals is enhancing climate change adaptation in Turkey.

The specific objective of this call for proposals is to improve resilience of communities and cities, protect natural resources and ecosystems and enhance adaptation capacity of vulnerable economic sectors.

The priorities of this call for proposals are:

  • Priority 1: Development of local climate action plans and strategies and/or preparation of decision-making tools
    (modelling, impact and vulnerability analysis, etc.),
  • Priority 2: Avoiding and reducing exposure to climate change related risks
    (water scarcity, droughts, forest fires, floods, extreme weather events, etc.),
  • Priority 3: Enhancing resilience of sectors impacted by climate change,
  • Priority 4: Enhancing the exchange of adaptation know-how and experience among organizations and cities within
    Turkey and/or the EU for creation and/or implementation of innovative climate change adaptation technologies and systems.

The total amount of funds allocated for the projects to be supported under the Program is 6.800.000 Euros. The program will be implemented over two different  lots, and detailed information about the lots is given below:

Lot 1:
Indicative Allocation of Funds2.500.000 Euros
Eligible Cost Range:50.000 Avro - 150.000 Euros
Percentages of Total Eligible Costs of Actions:%50 - %90
Eligible Applicants:
  • be an NGO  (association and foundation, etc.), or
  • be a municipality, or
  • be local authority (regional or provincial directorate, special provincial administration, governorship, etc.)
  • be a university  or research institution/centre, or
  • be a development agency, or
  • be a non-profit union, cooperative , or
  • be representative organizations of businesses and private sector at local level such as chambers, professional organizations, etc.
Project Duration:12-18 months
Lot 2:
Indicative Allocation of Funds:4.300.000 Euros
Eligible Cost Range:150.000 Euros -450.000 Euros
Percentages of Total Eligible Costs of Actions:%50 - %90
Eligible Applicants:
  • be a municipality, or
  • be local authority (regional or provincial directorate, special provincial administration, governorship, etc.), or
  • be a university or research institution/centre
Project Duration:12-18 months
