Within the scope of capacity building and network component of Enhancing Adaptation Action in Turkey Project, City Networks Meetings were held on September 28-29 with the participation of 132 representatives. In the opening speech of the City Networks Consultative Meetings, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Union of Municipalities of Turkey, and UNDP Turkey Climate Change and Environment Portfolio emphasized the importance of cooperation and networks in the fight against climate change. During the two-day sessions, the representatives of the Covenant of Mayors and CDP EMEA, Cities States and Regions, and the Healthy Cities Association presented their practices as an international organisation. Bursa, İstanbul, Antalya, İzmir, Konya, Ankara, Muğla, Samsun, Sakarya Metropolitan Municipalities and Nilüfer, Kadıköy, Bornova and Tepebaşı Municipalities as members of such networks representing local governments in Turkey shared their experiences and knowledge on the network memberships, membership process and the contribution to their municipalities.
