During the Local Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan Consultation Meetings held in Samsun on June 22-23, 2023, representatives from public institutions, municipalities, the private sector, academia, and civil society organizations participated, and adaptation actions were discussed in the meetings.
The prepared action plans include 11 different sectors. These sectors include agriculture and food security, ecosystem services and biodiversity, water resource management, tourism and cultural heritage, industry, urban areas, social development, public health, transportation and communication, energy, disaster risk reduction, and cross-cutting issues.
Local adaptation strategies and action plans were developed based on sectoral vulnerability and risk analyses, taking into account local needs and priorities. In the organized meetings, local actions were discussed with the responsible and relevant institutions in each sectoral session. After evaluating the opinions received in the meetings with stakeholders, it is expected that the plans will start to be implemented by the end of the year
