Muğla Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan Consultative Meeting

Muğla Local Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan Consultative Meeting within the scope of Enhancing Adaptation Action in Turkey Project, implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change with the support of United Nations Development Programme and financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey took place between 22-23 June 2022 in Muğla.
Within the scope of the studies regarding the update of the Muğla Local Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan, the consultative meetings were organized in order to determine the adaptation action options for urban, agriculture, livestock and fisheries, social development, energy, industry, transportation and communication, tourism and cultural heritage, public health, biodiversity and ecosystem services and water resources management sectors. The stakeholder representatives from Muğla the public institutions, academia, non-governmental organizations and private participated in the sessions, where climate change induced risk management in the sectors, the urgency of climate adaptation actions, current practices and needs, and long-term action proposals were discussed. In addition, at the meeting, action proposals for the Muğla Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan were collected from the participants.
