National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan Consultative Meetings

National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan Consultative Meeting within the scope of Enhancing Adaptation Action in Turkey Project, implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change with the support of United Nations Development Programme and financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey taking place between 19-30 September 2022.
The purpose of the meetings is to evaluate together the national vulnerability and risk analyzes completed within the scope of the Enhancing Adaptation Action in Turkey, and the options for adaptation to climate change, and to identify and prioritize actions that can be considered within the scope of adaptation to climate change. In these meetings, sectoral actions are prioritized, and representatives of public institutions, academic institutions, civil society, and private sector come together to discuss issues such as the steps to be taken, responsible institutions, co-benefits, costs, monitoring indicators and possible financial resources. In this context, after the actions are prioritized according to the criteria to be determined for each sector at the meetings, it is aimed to re-evaluate the feasibility (financial, technical, social, and institutional) of the said actions.
Public Health, Energy, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Social Development, City, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, Transportation and Communication, Water Resources Management, Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Disaster Risk Management, Industry sectors will be discussed at the meetings 19-30 September 2022.
